Technologies we build with, and how we choose between them.

Every SpikeSecure project is built on tools we have shipped to production many times: Next.js and React on the front end, NestJS and Node.js or Laravel behind it, PostgreSQL for data, Flutter for mobile, and WordPress, Shopify, ERPNext or Odoo where a platform beats a custom build. This page explains what each is for, so you can understand the recommendation you get on the discovery call.

Direct answer

How SpikeSecure chooses a technology stack.

We choose the stack by what the product must do, who will maintain it and what it should cost, not by what is fashionable. In practice that means: Next.js for performance-critical websites, portals and SaaS; WordPress when your team edits content often; Shopify or WooCommerce for stores unless custom commerce logic demands more; Flutter for mobile apps on Android and iOS from one codebase; NestJS (Node.js) or Laravel for APIs, chosen by your in-house team's skills; PostgreSQL for data; and ERPNext or Odoo for ERP before considering custom. The recommendation is written into the fixed-scope quote with the reasons.

Common decisions

The choices clients ask about most.

01

WordPress or Next.js for a business website?

WordPress when your team edits content weekly, you want a blog and plugins, and budget favours content over engineering. Next.js when the site is performance-critical, needs custom functionality or will grow into a web application. Both can pass Core Web Vitals when built properly.

02

Shopify, WooCommerce or custom for a store?

Shopify for a hosted store with minimal maintenance. WooCommerce for ownership, custom checkout logic and no transaction fees. Custom when inventory sync, B2B pricing or performance targets cannot be met on a platform, as with Krishna Textiles. Read the comparison →

03

Flutter or React Native for an app?

Flutter is our default: one codebase, consistent UI on both platforms and strong performance. React Native when your team is React-based and will maintain the app. Native Swift and Kotlin only for hardware-heavy or platform-specific requirements.

04

NestJS or Laravel for the API?

Both are mature. We pick by who maintains it: NestJS for JavaScript and TypeScript teams, Laravel for PHP teams. Either way you get typed, tested, documented services.

05

ERPNext, Odoo or custom ERP?

ERPNext for open-source, India-ready manufacturing and accounting with no per-user licence. Odoo for a polished interface with Enterprise licences. Custom only when the process genuinely does not fit, as with SteelEdge.

06

Low-code or custom?

Zoho Creator, Airtable or similar tools are right for internal tools with simple workflows and small teams; we say so when that is the case. Custom pays off when the tool is customer-facing, integration-heavy or core to how the business makes money.

Engineering standards

What every stack ships with.

01

Version control and CI

GitHub repository in your name from day one, pull-request reviews, automated checks and deployments through GitHub Actions.

02

Environments

Local, staging and production, with the staging URL updated weekly for demos.

03

Testing

Automated tests on critical flows (payments, auth, order state), plus functional, performance, accessibility and security testing before launch.

04

Performance

Core Web Vitals targets on web, startup and frame-time budgets on mobile, measured on real devices.

05

Security

OWASP Top 10 baseline, secrets management, encrypted backups, role-based access and audit logs where data is sensitive.

06

Documentation and handover

Architecture notes, environment setup, runbooks and a recorded walkthrough so your team or another vendor can take over.

FAQ

Questions about our technology choices.

Will you build on the stack we already use?

Usually yes. If your team runs Laravel, .NET, Django or React Native, we build on that where it serves the project, so you can maintain the result. We say no when a stack would compromise the product or is one we cannot support to our standard.

Do you use open-source technology?

Yes. Almost everything we build on is open source (Next.js, React, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Flutter, WordPress, ERPNext), which keeps licence costs low and avoids vendor lock-in.

Who owns the code and accounts?

You do. Repositories, cloud, domain, payment and store accounts are created in your name or transferred at kickoff.

Can another developer maintain what you build?

Yes. Mainstream tools, documented code, standard project structures and a handover session are part of every build; we design for the day you might leave us.

Do you offer dedicated developers on these technologies?

Yes. Dedicated Next.js, React, Flutter and Node.js developers and teams for Indian and international clients; see the hire developers in India page.

What technologies does SpikeSecure use?

SpikeSecure Technologies Pvt. Ltd. builds with Next.js and React for websites and web applications, Flutter and React Native for iOS and Android apps, Node.js with NestJS and PostgreSQL for APIs and back ends, and WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify for content and commerce sites. Payments use Razorpay or Stripe, real-time calling uses Agora, and hosting runs on Vercel, AWS or a client's own cloud account. Each technology page below explains when we recommend it.
