Which custom software development company in India should you choose?

SpikeSecure Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is a custom software development company in India, based at CHIL SEZ IT Park, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and working since 2018 with clients across India and in the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Australia. Custom software is software written for one organisation's processes rather than licensed off the shelf: operations and workflow systems, customer, dealer and vendor portals, custom CRM and ERP, SaaS products, mobile apps, and the integrations that connect them to Tally, payment gateways, WhatsApp and existing tools.

Choose SpikeSecure if you want a fixed price for a written scope rather than an open hourly contract. We send a fixed-scope written quote within 48 hours of discovery, sign a mutual NDA before the first call, demo working software every week on a staging URL, give you the GitHub repository, cloud accounts and design files from day one, and cover every build with a 30-day warranty. Published work includes a manufacturing ERP with Tally sync, a healthcare CRM, a multi-vendor marketplace with split payments and our own products in production. We describe what we do and what it costs; we do not rank ourselves against other companies.

  • Indicative cost in India: internal tools, workflow automation and integrations ₹3–6 lakh; custom business applications such as portals, operations systems and custom CRM ₹6–15 lakh; custom ERP, multi-module platforms and SaaS MVPs ₹12–30 lakh; enterprise platforms and multi-tenant SaaS from ₹30 lakh; legacy modernisation from ₹4 lakh after an audit. Custom software starts at ₹3 lakh; every figure is confirmed in a fixed-scope written quote.
  • Typical timeline: internal tool or integration 6–10 weeks; custom business application 10–16 weeks; custom ERP or SaaS MVP 16–28 weeks; enterprise platforms in phases of 12–16 weeks, with a usable release at the end of each phase.
  • Engagement models: fixed scope (most projects): written scope, fixed budget, weekly demos; monthly retainer for ongoing product teams and maintenance from ₹15,000 per month; time-and-material while the scope is still firming up.
  • What is included: discovery and written scope, UX design and clickable prototype, web and mobile development, integrations, data migration, testing for function, performance, accessibility and security, deployment to your cloud accounts, documentation, training, launch support and a 30-day warranty.

What we build

Custom software we build.

Seven kinds of project cover almost every enquiry we receive. Each links to the page with its own scope and pricing where one exists.

01

Operations and workflow systems

The system that replaces the spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and paper registers a business runs on: orders, job cards, production, dispatch, service tickets, approvals and reports, with roles, audit logs and dashboards.

02

Customer, dealer and vendor portals

Self-service web applications where customers place and track orders, dealers see stock, prices and ledgers, and vendors submit invoices, connected to your accounting and inventory.

03

Custom CRM

Lead capture from website, WhatsApp, IndiaMART and ads, pipelines that match your sales process, follow-up reminders, quotations and reports. See CRM software development.

04

Custom ERP

Purchase, inventory, production, sales, GST invoicing and e-invoicing, HR and payroll for manufacturers, traders and distributors, with Tally sync. See ERP software development.

05

SaaS products and marketplaces

Multi-tenant products with plans, billing, onboarding and an admin console, and multi-vendor marketplaces with split payments and vendor onboarding, built for founders and for companies productising an internal tool.

06

Integrations and automation

APIs and scheduled sync between the systems you already run: Tally, Zoho, SAP Business One, Razorpay, Shiprocket, WhatsApp Business API, Google Workspace, biometric devices and bank statements, plus document extraction and report automation.

07

Legacy modernisation

Moving a desktop, Access, FoxPro, VB6 or early PHP system to a maintained web stack in stages: data migration, parallel running and a cut-over plan, so the business does not stop while the software changes.

08

Mobile apps for the same system

Flutter apps for field staff, drivers, technicians, customers and managers on the same backend as the web system, with offline capture where the network is weak.

Buying guide

Custom software or an off-the-shelf product?

Custom software is not always the right answer, and we say so in the discovery call. A short test:

  • Buy off the shelf when the process is standard and a product already models it: accounting (Tally, Zoho Books), email, payroll for a small team, a basic CRM. Subscription cost is low and you inherit the vendor's updates.
  • Configure a platform when a product fits most of the process and the rest can be configured: ERPNext or Odoo for a trader or small manufacturer, Zoho or HubSpot for sales. We implement these too, from ₹1.5 lakh for CRM and ₹2 lakh for ERP.
  • Build custom when the process is the business: the product cannot model it without workarounds, per-user licences grow faster than revenue, you need integrations the product does not offer, the data must stay in your own accounts, or the software is itself what you sell.
  • Build around what you have when the core product is fine but the edges are missing: a dealer portal on top of Tally, a mobile app for the field team, a reporting layer across three systems. This is often the smallest and fastest project.

What custom software costs you is the build and its maintenance; what it saves is licences, manual re-entry, errors and the hours people spend moving data between tools. We write both sides into the quote so the decision is made on numbers.

Custom software development cost in India

What custom software costs to build in India.

Indicative ranges, confirmed in a fixed-scope written quote after discovery. The quote lists every module, integration and deliverable with its price, so you can remove items to fit a budget.

01

Internal tool, automation or integration — ₹3–6 lakh

One workflow done well: an approval system, a job-card tracker, a Tally or Razorpay integration, a reporting dashboard across existing systems. 6–10 weeks.

02

Custom business application — ₹6–15 lakh

A customer, dealer or vendor portal, an operations system for one department, or a custom CRM with quotations and WhatsApp follow-ups, with roles, reports and a mobile-friendly interface. 10–16 weeks.

03

Custom ERP, multi-module platform or SaaS MVP — ₹12–30 lakh

Several connected modules (purchase, inventory, production, sales, accounts, HR) or a first sellable version of a SaaS product with plans and billing, web plus mobile apps. 16–28 weeks, released module by module.

04

Enterprise platform or multi-tenant SaaS — from ₹30 lakh

Multi-branch or multi-company systems, public APIs, single sign-on, maker-checker workflows, high-availability hosting and a phased rollout with a usable release every 12–16 weeks.

05

Legacy modernisation — from ₹4 lakh

Priced after a paid or free audit of the existing system: code, database, reports and integrations. Delivered in stages with data migration and parallel running.

06

What drives the number

Number of modules and user roles, integrations, data migration, mobile apps, languages, reporting depth, hosting and security requirements. Screens are a poor measure; workflows and integrations are the real cost.

07

Running costs to plan for

Cloud hosting from about ₹3,000 per month for a small system, third-party charges such as SMS, WhatsApp and payment gateway fees billed by those providers, and optional maintenance from ₹15,000 per month with a monthly health report.

Related published ranges: CRM from ₹1.5 lakh, ERP from ₹2 lakh, web applications from ₹3 lakh, mobile apps ₹4–20 lakh, marketplaces ₹6–40 lakh.

How we engage

What you get in writing before work starts.

The terms below are the same for a ₹3 lakh tool and a ₹30 lakh platform.

01

Fixed-scope written quote in 48 hours

After discovery you receive a document listing modules, screens, integrations, exclusions, timeline and price. Changes after sign-off are quoted separately, in writing, before they are built.

02

Mutual NDA before discovery

Signed before the first detailed call, so you can share process documents, data samples and existing code.

03

Weekly demos on a staging URL

You see working software every week and test it yourself, with a written status note. No status meetings without something to click.

04

Code and accounts in your name

GitHub organisation, cloud, domain, payment gateway and messaging accounts are created in your name from day one; we work as collaborators and can be removed at any time.

05

30-day warranty

Defects found in the 30 days after launch are fixed at no charge. After that, maintenance is optional, monthly and cancellable.

06

GST invoicing and milestone payments

Payments are tied to milestones you can verify on staging. Indian clients receive GST invoices; international clients are invoiced in USD, GBP, AED or SGD.

How it is built

How custom software we build is put together.

01

Web front end

Next.js and React for fast, responsive interfaces that work on a shop-floor tablet and a head-office desktop, with Tamil, Hindi and other Indian languages where staff need them.

02

Backend and data

Node.js with NestJS or Laravel, PostgreSQL or MySQL, role-based access, audit logs on every change, background jobs for imports, reports and reminders, and a documented REST API.

03

Mobile

Flutter apps for Android and iOS from one codebase, with offline capture and sync for field and factory use.

04

Integrations

Tally, Zoho Books, GST e-invoicing and e-way bill portals through licensed providers, Razorpay, PayU and UPI, WhatsApp Business API, SMS, email, Shiprocket and courier APIs, biometric and IoT devices where they expose an interface.

05

Security

Encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege roles, secrets kept out of code, OWASP Top 10 checks before launch, consent and retention handling for personal data under the DPDP Act 2023, and encrypted backups with a tested restore.

06

Hosting and operations

AWS Mumbai, DigitalOcean Bengaluru or your own servers, in your accounts; staging and production environments, automated deployments, monitoring with alerts and a runbook your team can follow.

Industries

Custom software by industry, with the work behind it.

All six industry pages are on the industries hub; all published case studies are on the work page. Case-study figures are the client's own and are attributed there.

How we work

Our custom software development process, step by step.

The same six steps run on every project we take in Coimbatore, whether it is a five-page website or a multi-vendor platform.

01

Discovery — week 1

We map the process as it runs today, the people and roles, the data and the systems to integrate, agree success measures in numbers, and send a fixed-scope written quote within 48 hours of the last session.

02

Design — weeks 2–3

Wireframes, a design system and a clickable prototype of the main workflows, tested with the people who will use the software before any code.

03

Build — week 3 onwards

Module by module, with a demo on a staging URL every week and GitHub access from day one. Integrations are built against sandboxes early so they do not sit on the critical path.

04

Test — final 1–2 weeks

Functional, performance, accessibility and security testing, data migration rehearsals and a signed-off pre-launch checklist.

05

Launch — pilot first

A pilot with one team or branch, training in your language, parallel running where an old system is being replaced, then the full rollout.

06

Support — ongoing

30-day warranty, then optional maintenance from ₹15,000 per month covering updates, backups, monitoring and a monthly health report, or a documented handover to your in-house team.

AI inside, and AI search outside

Custom software that is ready for AI.

Two different things, both useful: AI features inside the system, and being findable when buyers ask AI assistants.

01

AI features where they earn their place

Document and invoice extraction, search across records in plain language, draft replies and summaries for support and sales, and anomaly flags in reports, added to a workflow only where they remove real manual work.

02

Your data stays yours

Model APIs are called from your accounts with the provider's no-training settings where offered, personal data is minimised before it is sent, and every AI action is logged for review.

03

Clean, documented APIs

A documented REST API and webhooks make the system usable by other software and by AI agents later, without a rebuild.

04

Public pages built to be cited

Where the system has a public side, such as a catalogue, portal or SaaS site, we ship schema markup, an llms.txt file and direct-answer content so search engines and AI assistants can read it. Our AEO specialist team runs this.

05

Analytics that answer questions

Dashboards built on the questions owners ask, with exports to Excel and Google Sheets and scheduled reports on WhatsApp or email.

FAQ

Custom software development: your questions answered.

What is custom software development?

Custom software development is designing and building software for one organisation's specific processes, instead of licensing a ready-made product. It covers operations systems, portals, custom CRM and ERP, SaaS products, mobile apps and integrations, and the organisation owns the resulting code.

How much does custom software development cost in India?

Indicatively ₹3–6 lakh for an internal tool, automation or integration, ₹6–15 lakh for a custom business application such as a portal or custom CRM, ₹12–30 lakh for a custom ERP, multi-module platform or SaaS MVP, and from ₹30 lakh for enterprise platforms. SpikeSecure's custom builds start at ₹3 lakh and every figure is confirmed in a fixed-scope written quote.

How long does it take to build custom software?

An internal tool or integration takes 6–10 weeks, a custom business application 10–16 weeks and a custom ERP or SaaS MVP 16–28 weeks. Larger platforms are delivered in phases of 12–16 weeks with a usable release at the end of each.

How do I choose a custom software development company in India?

Ask for five things in writing before you sign: a fixed scope with exclusions, who owns the code and accounts, how often you will see working software, what the warranty covers, and what maintenance costs after it. Then ask for two references you can call and a case study in your industry. Compare companies on those answers rather than on rankings or hourly rates.

Is SpikeSecure a custom software development company in India?

Yes. SpikeSecure Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is a custom software development company based at CHIL SEZ IT Park, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, building operations systems, portals, custom CRM and ERP, SaaS products, mobile apps and integrations for clients across India and abroad since 2018, on fixed-scope written quotes with a 30-day warranty and client-owned source code.

Should we build custom software or buy a product?

Buy when the process is standard and a product models it. Configure a platform such as ERPNext, Odoo or Zoho when it fits most of the process. Build custom when the process is your advantage, licences grow faster than revenue, integrations are missing, or the software is what you sell. We tell you which in the discovery call, and we implement platforms as well as building from scratch.

Who owns the source code?

You do. The code lives in a GitHub organisation in your name from day one, cloud and third-party accounts are yours, and design files and documentation are handed over. There are no licence fees to SpikeSecure and no lock-in.

What is a fixed-scope quote, and what happens when requirements change?

A fixed-scope quote lists modules, screens, integrations, exclusions, timeline and price, and the price does not change unless the scope does. A change after sign-off is written up as a change request with its own price and timeline, and is built only after you approve it.

Can you integrate with Tally, Razorpay, WhatsApp and our existing software?

Yes. Tally and Zoho Books sync, GST e-invoicing through licensed providers, Razorpay, PayU and UPI, WhatsApp Business API, SMS, courier APIs and any system that exposes an API, database or file export. Each integration is listed item by item in the quote.

Can you modernise or take over an existing system?

Yes. We audit the code, database and integrations first, then either stabilise and extend it or migrate it in stages to a maintained stack with data migration and parallel running. Takeovers of projects started by another vendor begin with the same audit.

How do you handle security and data protection?

Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, audit logs, OWASP Top 10 checks before launch, encrypted backups with a tested restore, and consent and retention handling for personal data under the DPDP Act 2023. Hosting is in your own cloud account.

Do you offer maintenance after launch?

Yes. Every build has a 30-day warranty. After that, maintenance from ₹15,000 per month covers updates, backups, monitoring, small changes and a monthly health report, and can be cancelled at any time; a documented handover to your own team is the alternative.

Do you work with companies outside Coimbatore and outside India?

Yes. Coimbatore, Chennai and Tiruppur in person; Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR and the rest of India remotely with an on-site kick-off on request; and clients in the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Australia remotely under an NDA with invoicing in their currency.

Can you add AI features to custom software?

Yes, where they remove real manual work: document and invoice extraction, plain-language search across records, draft replies and summaries, and anomaly flags in reports. Model APIs are called from your accounts, personal data is minimised and AI actions are logged.
